Sheikh M H M Yoosuff

Managing Director

Sheikh Yoosuff is a recognized, respected and prominent Scholar from Sri Lanka, who received his higher education and qualifications in Islamic Shari’a from Sri Lanka & Pakistan (Jamiathul Uloom Al Islamiya). He is currently the Vice President of the Board of Management of Haqqaniyya Arabic College – Sri Lanka and a member of the Shari’ah Supervisory Board of number of leading Islamic financial institutions. He is also a member of the FATWA Committee of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama Legislation Council.  Sheikh Yoosuff is actively involved in various prominent Islamic institutions involved in social, welfare and financial activities and a regular preacher on Fiqh, Aqeeda and Tafseer in Sri Lanka.

Dr M A M Shukri

Dr M A M Shukri, a highly respected scholar is the Director of Jamiyah Naleemiyah, Sri Lanka, a pioneering and premier Islamic Shari’a higher educational institution in the country.  He possesses a PhD from University of Edinburgh, UK and a BA Degree in Economics & Arabic from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.  Dr Shukri is a prominent speaker in many international conferences & workshops and have contributed immensely by presenting research papers in same.  He is an acclaimed writer too and credited with authoring several research and other publications.

Moulavi Mohideen Mulaffer

One of the first in the country to get qualified in the Certificate in Islamic Finance from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant, UK.  He is also a qualified Alim having graduated from Nadwatul Rahmaneeya, Sri Lanka.

Sahal Alavi

An experienced Islamic banker who is qualified in Islamic Finance from the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment, UK and completed Diploma in Islamic Banking at Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka ( IBSL ). He has served as a Manager, Investments at an Islamic Financial institution.  He has wide and varied experience in Marketing and Management at reputed commercial organizations both local and abroad.  Mr Sahal is serving as a lecturer for Islamic Banking & Finance courses locally and abroad.  He also a holds MBA and B.Sc. degree.

M L M Maqshood

Director of Studies ZEC

He has been working in the educational field for over two decades as a lecturer and administrator.  Although his basic academic background revolves around engineering and IT, after migrating to the field of Islamic Finance, Mr Maqshood has served as a lecturer in Islamic Banking & Finance and also as Director of Studies.  He holds an MTechIT degree and a Cert in Islamic Jurisprudence.

S A H Mohideen (Faculty)

ACII, Chartered Insurer

Mohideen is an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.  He counts more than 37 years of experience in insurance which includes GM (Life) Asian Alliance PLC, CEO Co-operative Insurance Co., and GM Ceylinco Takaful Limited.

He conducts lectures, workshops, and training programs on insurance, Takaful, marketing and motivation. He also contributes to newspapers and periodicals. He has presented papers on Sri Lanka insurance industry and Takaful at seminars abroad.

He has made significant contribution to the development of insurance industry and Takaful in Sri Lanka.  He served the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka in various capacities - secretary, treasurer, Executive Council member etc.

He was also chairman of the Life Insurance Forum. Mr Mohideen is also a founder member of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute.

Sabri Abdul Cader (Faculty)

Head of Operation & Structured Finance of ADL Capital 

Sabri Abdul Cader is a professional banker with over 14 years experience in conventional and Islamic banking & finance. He is a holder of Bachelors Degree in Business with a major in Banking & Finance from Monash University, Australia.  He also is a part-time speaker / lecturer  / trainer in Islamic Banking & Finance and has conducted a number of sessions in the subject in India, Singapore and the UAE. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Cross Border Associates (Pvt) Ltd.

Ash- Sheikh H. Abdul Nazar (Faculty)

Sheikh Abdul Nazar is the founding father of Centre for Spiritual Solidarity (Educational   and social service institution), Puttalam, Sri Lanka and its President since its inception in 2006, member of Shari’ah Supervisory Board of Islamic Financial Services Unit of People’s Leasing Company Ltd., Sri Lanka since 2006, the Chairman of Muslim Peace Assembly of Peace Secretariat for Muslims – Puttalam Region since 2009, Vice chairman of National Muslim Assembly since its inception in 2009, presently.

He possess a Diploma in Advanced English for Administration and Academic Purposes at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, Certificate in English form Careers at University of Colombo, Sri Lanka and a Licentiate in Arabic and Shari’ah Studies at Al-Jamiah Al-Rahmaniyyah, Akurana, Sri Lanka He has also held numerous positions during the last decade, as Head of Dept. of Arabic and Instructor of Arabic, Shari’ah Studies at Daar Al-Uloom Al-Meezaniyyah, secretary at Mercy Lanka, a Kuwait based non-governmental organization in Sri Lanka, Chief Administrator and General Secretary of All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (Council of Muslim theologians in Sri Lanka with around 3000 members and 50 branches all over Sri Lanka), Member of Shari’ah Supervisory Board of Amana Investments Limited, and Ceylinco Profit Sharing Investment Corporation Limited, First Barakah Investments Limited, Sri Lanka.

He is also a well-known author of Authored books in Arabic, English and Tamil, he has contributed articles on various themes to Arabic, English and Tamil newspapers and magazines in Sri Lanka and overseas since 1988 to date, composed Arabic poems on multifarious themes since 1989 to date, Presented papers on numerous subjects in national and international workshops and conferences since 1998 to date, reviewed books, magazines, souvenirs and other literatures since 1993 to date.

Completed CIMA Islamic Finance.  Currently working for a leading Islamic Financial institution (state owned). Having Accountancy background. Served as an Accountant in the mercantile sector and have also worked in the UK.
